Had
a super fun conversation with new European friends met in church
tonight, and then a deep sharing with a close Christian friend in HK
through text. One great thing about studying abroad is to meet new
friends, hear new stories and develop new companionship, yet still
keeping the old friendships we treasure mutually, despite the fact that
we may just see each other a few times every year.
Another amazing thing, experiences of difficulties and hard times in a foreign country could end up being blessings to beloved families and friends of where we came from. I consider this as a little way to show the gratitude towards their unconditional support and trust.
"And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them." (Romans 8:28)
今晩、教会で新しいヨーロッパ人の友達と出会って楽しく話した。そして、香港人の親友とメールで深い会話をしてもらった。留学の一つの微妙なことは、新し い友達を作って、様々な人生のストーリーを聞いているけど、前の友情もまだ続けられている。一部の古い友達と毎年三四回だけ会えるし、何人かの親友は私に 詰まらなく話しすぎられたけど、みんなが友情をまだ大切にしている。
もう一つの素晴らしいことは、外国で難しい経験や大変な挑戦を通して、自分の経験が家族と前の友達の祝福になれることだ。この祝福はいつも励まして信頼してくれている友達への感謝の気持ちだ。心から話せる友達がいると、本当にいいと思う。
「神は、神を愛する者たち、すなわち、ご計画に従って召された者たちと共に働いて、万事を益となるようにして下さることを、わたしたちは知っている。」（聖書。ローマの信徒への手紙 8：28）
