My friend will be back to Asia today. Although we just met for a couple of times, I always enjoyed our conversations and found them interesting and meaningful, especially about future plannings and the social and cultural issues in certain Asian societies. Study in a foreign country makes me particularly cherishing good friends whom I feel comfortable to talk with. As my family and some friends may know, I’m actually picky in sharing my deep thoughts with people. And in most times I am better (or less worse) in writing than talking even in my native language, i.e. Cantonese.

香港の大学院の先生のお子さんは、今日シンガポールに帰るから、先週の金曜日にニューヨークの中華街にその人に会いに行った。その友達は、前にニューヨークの大学で勉強して、去年卒業した。会うことが三回だけだけど、私たちは友達になったから、将来、会いたいと思うよ。特にニューヨークに行った時に。それは、ちょっと悲しそうだね。

会う時に、将来の計画と、香港とシンガポールの社会や文化を話して、面白くて意味たくさんあった。実は、その先生も、友達も、本当に優しくて親切だよ。友達とたくさんの面白いトピックスがあって、話すことはとても楽しかった。多分私たちは香港人だから。

外国で、家族がないから、いい友達を作ることが特に大切にすると思う。友達を多く作ることが要ないけど、優しくて明るい友人と話すのが大好きだよ。

よく、何人か友達が私に「Chrisさんと話す時に、気楽で嬉しいよ」って言った。励みをくれて、どうもありがとう。実は、私は、積極的すぎる人があまり好きじゃないから、そうな人になりたくないと思う。友達と関係はもっと簡単で相互尊重があったら、いいかもしれない。

とにかく、友達、シンガポールと将来でいい旅！
